Bringing a pit bull puppy to your home is almost like adopting a child. It requires the same kind of responsibility. No puppy is perfect; they will make your carpet a mess and off course they will chew on your favorite shoes if left unattended. It is actually your duty to watch the puppy and to appropriately train him or her.
Dogs aren’t stupid; it’s just that they have inexperienced pet owners that fail their puppy by not correctly training them. The puppy must not be penalized for your lacking skills. If you are not an skilled pet owner, you must take your pit bull puppy to classes so it can learn what is required. Another thing to point out is that puppies cannot be trained everything in a single day. Training is a constant process which requires a lot of love and patience.
Pit Bulls need a lot of attention and must be constantly supervised. A pit bull puppy or a dog is a responsibility 365 days a year. A dog is a long-term commitment (10 to 15 years on the Average). A puppy should be a permanent integral part of your family, they are not a toy; you should always remember that. A puppy is a living, breathing being and it is not something to be put in the back garden to be played with only when you feel like it.
Training a Pit Bull Puppy requires time, vigilance, patience and dedication. The more consistent you are in following the basic house-training procedures, the sooner your puppy will become skilled at acceptable behavior. It may well take several weeks to house-train your puppy and the quickest and easiest way to do it is to rely on your Puppy’s natural instincts and behavior.
Unless you can keep an eye on your puppy 24 hours a day, don’t expect the house training process to be accomplished until your puppy is at least 6 months old.You simply can’t give a pup away if you suddenly decide he is too much for you. Or if your lifestyle has changed and he doesn’t fit into your new pace of life, you can’t just give him Away. It will be too traumatic for him.You cannot perhaps live happily with a dog unless you have it house trained. It’s the first problem you need to address when you bring your dog home.
Your new puppy is completely reliant and dependent on you to help him familiarize and fit into our human being, domesticated world. Your guidance and leadership will determine what path his life takes and what type of dog he will grow to be. Throughout puppy-hood you play the lead role and are in charge for shaping the character, behavior habits, and temperament that your dog will have during his life.
Pitbull Puppy Training And Your Dog’s Age:
From birth until maturity, your dog goes through physical and mental developmental periods. What happens throughout these stages can, and often does, have a lasting effect on your dog. His outlook on life will be shaped during these periods, as will his behavior. The age at which a puppy is separated from its mother and litter mates has a profound influence on his behavior as an adult.
Taking a pup away from the mother too soon could have a destructive effect on his capability to handle training. For example, House training might be more challenging under these circumstances. A pup’s ability to understand is critical to becoming a well-trained dog. It will as well affect his communication with people and other dogs. So what is the ideal period for your puppy to make the transition to its new family?
All the behavioral studies that have been made suggest the 49th day, give or take a day or two. These studies have in addition revealed that dogs start to learn at 3 weeks of age. At 7 weeks old, their brains are neurologically complete, and all the Circuits are wired. Their mind is a empty space, and all you have to do is fill it with the correct information.
They won’t fail to remember what they learn in the next few weeks. If you wait until your dog is older, he’ll probably have picked up several bad habits, which means you have to erase the page and start all over, a much more tedious job than starting while he’s a puppy.
