Secrets to Dog Training is an in-depth guide to dog obedience. The author, Daniel Stevens, understands that, though dogs are said to be man’s best friend, they can be unruly and destructive if they aren’t given the proper training. So, he has compiled a wonderful list of tips and tricks for training any dog. Here are just a few of the topics that Daniel covers in his guide:

House Training Your Dog:

One of the many topics covered in the guide is house training your dog. Daniel Stevens knows from experience the particular frustration and annoyance that goes along with coming home to accidents. So, whether it’s a new puppy or a dog that suffers from separation anxiety or is simply marking their territory, Daniel talks about the fastest and easiest ways to cure the problem.

.

.

Dominance:

Dominance is another big problem, especially with little dogs. Many dogs have a tendency to think that they rule the house and are allowing their humans to stay in it. Well, for many owners, that attitude is just unacceptable. Daniel Stevens’ guide, Secrets to Dog Training, talks all about the pack mentality of dogs and how to make your dog understand that you are the alpha (leader) of the house, not him.

Recalling Your Dog:

Recalling is a big problem for many owners. In the guide, Daniel Stevens talks about why it’s so difficult for some owners to get their dogs to come back when called. He also goes on to make a very interesting point about the recall exercise.

Daniel explains that you should never use a recall word, such as “come”, or your dog’s own name in an angry way. Dogs, he explains, have their own language. While they can learn English, it takes time and consistency. If you scream “COME!” at your dog after he does something wrong he won’t know that “COME!” actually means that he should come. Instead he will interpret your tone of voice as meaning that “COME!” indicates trouble and he’ll want to run in the other direction.

Basic Obedience:

Once you establish your leadership role and teach your dog some basic commands, like recall and sit, as outlined in the book, Daniel also talks about many other basic obedience tips to keep your dog safe and improve the relationship between you and your pet. He teaches such things as how to stop dog aggression and how to keep your pet from running out the door any time you open it. He also talks about the importance of preventing and controlling jumping and barking. In fact, his guide book and 30-minute video cover 25 behavioral problems and how to correct them.

Support:

Finally, Daniel Stevens understands that dogs are individuals. They have individual thoughts, feelings and problems. So, along with the Secrets to Dog Training program, Daniel offers unlimited online support to answer any specific questions that dog owners have about training their dogs. That makes Secrets to Dog Training an awesome money and time-saving tool for any dog owner.

In a nutshell: Highly Recommended.

As any good dog owner knows, house training can be a major issue. Whether you wake up to go to the bathroom in the middle of the night only to step in a puddle of puppy pee or you go out to dinner and come back to find that the dog has defecated in the living room, it’s a horrible problem.

The aggravation alone is bad enough. However, it gets worse. The smells and stains are inescapable. Your cleaning bills can go through the rough. So, every owner wants to housebreak their dog as quickly as possible. Mr. Edwards’ Ultimate Guide offers dozens of helpful ways to do just that.

The Convenience:

One of the great things about the guide is the convenience. It’s convenient on many levels. It’s affordable and easy to download, to begin with. Also, though, it’s well organized with plenty of illustrations and clear chapter headings. That way, ……………………… information can be looked up immediately, in any situation.

The Compilation:

One great thing about the Ultimate House Training Guide is how much information it covers. Mr. Edwards has compiled years of tips, tricks and advice from great sources, like veterinarians and dog trainers. He’s also listed information based on tests and case studies, so the results of the methods in the guide are well tested.

The Content:

Of course, it’s the content itself that really makes the guide. Mr. Edwards covers a variety of topics, including why most house training takes so long and is detrimental to the relationships between dogs and their owners. Many training techniques involve punishing the dog. In fact, people often yell at their dog for accidents that the dog had minutes or even hours before the people discovered them. In the guide, Mr. Edwards explains that that’s completely useless.

A Place For Everything:

Another thing that the Ultimate House Training Guide makes clear is that there needs to be a specific place for everything. In other words, dogs learn to go to relieve themselves outside better if they’re always taken to the same outdoor area to go. Although that may not always be possible, such as if you are on vacation or at the park, Mr. Edwards explains that it’s much faster to train dogs when there is an area in the yard designated for the task. That way, the area gets the dog’s scent and the dog also remembers going in that area.

Excitement and Anxiety:

Mr Edwards’ guide also talks about excessive urination and deification caused by excitement and anxiety. He discusses how to deal with each dog’s emotional issues, so that the physical problem of household accidents can be dealt with constructively later on.

The Guide also touches on the importance of understanding each dog and having patience with them, especially when they’re puppies. It takes a little while to learn and the occasional accident will happen. With the Ultimate House Training Guide, though, accidents will be few and far between and, eventually, stop entirely.

The Program Points:

One of the great things about Dove Cresswell’s training program is that it covers so many things. Many programs focus on just one aspect of dog training. Dove tries to cover everything and cover it well, rather than just touching upon it.

Obedience and Recall:

Basic obedience and recall are two of the most important things to teach any dog. If a dog doesn’t listen or come when called, after all, its life is constantly in danger. Dove Cresswell’s program can teach any dog those valuable skills. Even if they knew nothing other than “stop” and “come” they’d be great dogs, but Dove’s program takes that basic training to the next level.

…

.House Training, and Crate Training:

No matter how cute our dogs are, as owners, it can be frustrating for us to watch our dogs destroy our houses by urinating and defecating anyplace they like. There’s nothing worse than waking up first thing in the morning and stepping in a puddle of puppy pee. So, one of the great things about Dove Cresswell’s online dog training program is that it teaches house training.

It’s also frustrating, as owners, to have to battle with our dogs to get them into crates. Whether we’re crating them so we can leave them alone in the house or crating them to transport them someplace, such as the vet’s office, we’re usually in a rush. Luckily, the program teaches quick crate training methods that really work well.

Speed:

Since Ms. Cresswell works as a Hollywood dog trainer she understands that time is vital in dog training. After all, when our dogs are destroying our houses, we need solutions in a hurry. That’s why it’s great that her program comes in 7 short steps that are all so easy to teach.

Great Program Points:

Dove Cresswell also makes some great points in her program. One such point is that all dogs can learn. A lot of people think that their dogs are either too young or too old to be taught, but that just isn’t the case. All dogs can learn, though they do all learn at a different pace.

Another very important point that dove makes is that training should be fun. She encourages short training sessions that are full of excitement and energy. She also encourages positive reinforcement, not punishment, as a training technique.

Another wonderful point that Dove is clear about in her program is that dogs need to be understood, if they’re to be trained. She helps us to learn what our dogs are thinking, what their natural behaviors are and what they’re likely to do in certain situations. By learning the “language” of dog training, she teaches us to teach our dogs faster and more efficiently. So her Online Dog Training program is really a wonderful asset to any dog owner.

There is also the fact that your puppy won’t have adequate bladder and bowel controls before he’s 16 weeks old. In other words, he’s not able to “hold it” for long periods so you should be extra vigilant all through that period.

But that doesn’t mean that you can’t start house training him the minute he put his paws into your home. It simply means that you have to expect your puppy to have a couple of accidents. But don’t worry, we will guide you through everything you’ll need to deal with these little mishaps, from how to react to how to clean up.

One of the key to house training success is being able to predict when your dog will need to eliminate.

After every excitement(someone knocking at the door, guests arriving for example)

As you can tell, your puppy will need to go out quite often. But don’t despair, as he grows up he will need to be taken outside not as much as he use to.

Potty Training Puppies - Establish an elimination schedule:

Pitbulls thrive on a regular routine. By feeding and exercising your Pitbull at roughly the same time each day of the week, he’ll as well relieve himself on the same time every day.
Decide a schedule to feed the puppy that’s convenient for you. Always feed at the same time. Until he’s 4 months of age, he needs four meals a day; from 4 to 7 months, three daily meals are appropriate. From then on, feed twice a day, which is healthier than feeding just once.

A sample feeding schedule follows:

7 weeks through 4 months — four times a day

4 months to 7 months — three times a day

7 months on — two times a day

Potty Training Puppies - Establish a regular toilet area:

Feed the appropriate amount — loose stools are a sign of overfeeding; straining or dry stools a sign of underfeeding. With ten minutes, pick up the dish and position it away. Don’t have food available at other periods. Keep the diet constant. Abrupt changes of food may possibly cause digestive upsets.

Start by selecting a toilet area and always take your Pitbull to that spot when you want him to eliminate. If possible, pick a place in a straight line from the house. Carry your puppy or put him on leash. Stay still and let him concentrate on what he’s doing. Be tolerant and allow him sniff around. When he’s finished, tell him what a clever puppy he is and play with him for a little. Don’t take him straight back inside so that he doesn’t get the idea that he simply gets to go outside to make his business and learns to delay the process solely to stay outside.

Witnessing the act of your puppy relieving himself outside, followed by playtime, Is perhaps one of the most valuable facets of housetraining. The primary sign of not spending sufficient time outside with your puppy is after he comes back inside and has an accident. Letting the puppy out by himself isn’t good enough — you have to go with him until his schedule has been developed.

Take your puppy to his toilet area when waking up, shortly after eating or drinking, and after he has played or chewed.

No matter how careful and vigilant you are, your puppy will produce an accident. Housetraining accidents could be simple mistakes, or they can be indicative of a natural problem. The secret to remember is that, as a universal Rule, dogs like to be clean. When your Pit has had an accident in the house, don’t call him to you to punish him. It’s too late. If you do punish your dog under these circumstances, it won’t help your housetraining efforts, and you’ll make him wary of wanting to get nearer to you.

A general misconception is that the dog knows “what he did” because he looks “guilty.” definitely not so! He has that look because from earlier experience he knows that after you happen to come across a mess, you become furious at him. He has learned to associate a mess with your response. He hasn’t and can’t make the connection between having made the mess in the first place and your anger. Discipline after the fact is the quickest way to undermine the bond you’re trying to build with your dog.

Dog’s are smart, but they don’t think in terms of cause and effect. After you come home from work and scream at your dog for having an accident in the living room, you aren’t encouraging your dog to make use of his toilet area. All you’re doing is letting him know that occasionally you’re really kind and sometimes you’re really mean. Swatting your dog with a rolled-up newspaper is cruel and just makes him scared of you and rolled-up newspapers. Rubbing his nose in it is unhygienic and disgusting.

Dog’s could become housetrained in spite of such antics, but certainly not because of them. When you come upon an accident, all the time keep calm. Place your dog out of sight so he can’t watch you clean up. Use white vinegar or a stain remover. Don’t use any ammonia-based cleaners, because the ammonia doesn’t neutralize The odor and the puppy will be attracted to the same spot.

Accidents are just that — accidents. The most terrible thing you can make is call your dog to you to punish him. Your Pit didn’t do it on purpose, and the majority of dogs are just as horrified by what happened as you are.If you catch your dog in the act, sharply call his name and slap your hands. If he stops, take him to his toilet area. If he doesn’t, allow him to finish and don’t become furious. Don’t try to drag him out since that will make your clean-up job that much more challenging. Until your puppy is dependable, don’t let him have the run of the house unsupervised.
